Due to two successful cycling events this Fall Casco Bay Sports was able to donate over $1400 to local non profits Greater Portland NEMBA (12 Hours of Bradbury) & The Friends of the Eastern Promenade (Casco Bay Cross). Their support in these events was excellent and we're looking forward to growing the events in 2012!

The 5th Annual 12 Hours of Bradbury Mountain might have had the best vibe yet! 300 Riders from all over New England and beyond including Canada & Colorado converged on the park Friday & Saturday for 12 hours of single-track paradise. The races were interesting from the get-go. Highlighted by the 2 person men's race as some of the fastest riders in New England teams up to battle it out to right down to the wire.

Just after our annual spirited kid's race at noon, locals King Memphis took the stage and set the music precedent way too high for this event! A big thanks to Matt Robbins and his band for dedicating the afternoon to the event. The 3 person Family Team race got as close as 5 seconds late in the day while the 2 person Coed Team turned into a back and forth dual.

The Solo crown went to Greg Jancaitis as he continues his run of consecutive 12 hour races. All the talented riders in the solo expert class continue to amaze us from year to year. We had our first solo junior this year! Local Jacob Inger rode his heart out finishing 8 solid laps! A big thanks to everyone who has comes to this event year after year. This event has turned into a New England classic and its due to the friendships that have formed and the positive attitute all the participants have for this race!

Racers & Enthusiasts,
The 2010 Version of The Bradbury Twelve was our best event yet! The race came in at the capacity of 300 participants. This year we held a pre-race packet pickup at Buck's Naked BBQ on Friday. Campers set up shop in the field across the street and we had some of the most exciting photo finsihes in history! Greg Jancaitis, a local favorite, took down the solo crown and Andrew Freye and Alex Frappier teamed up as an intercontinental tandem in the 2 Person Expert Class. Geographically we streched even farther with riders from Tennessee, Washington D.C, Pennsylvania to name a few! The race was able to donate $1800 to Greater Portland NEMBA to be used for trail construction in the park! The Bradbury Trails are up and coming and we are happy to support them.
Cheers and see you next year,
Casco Bay Sports & Events
